MONTREAT, NC - The CIU men's soccer team was back on the round on Wednesday as they traveled to North Carolina to battle the Cavaliers of Montreat. The Rams are coming off a tough loss to Reinhardt University on Saturday and hoped to bounce back against Montreat. After a tough back and forth contest, CIU would be handed their second loss of the season.

First Half:
- 40:28 Montreat would get things kicked off early with a shot in the 41st minute but would be denied by freshman CIU goalkeeper Hazel Ley.
- 20:07 Montreat would find the back of the net eventually, however, as Ricardo Araujo goal gave the Cavaliers a 1-0 advantage.
- 10:36 CIU goalkeeper Hazel Ley would come up big yet again in the first half stuffing another Montreat shot attempt.
Second Half
- 41:18 CIU entered the second half down 1-0, but that score wouldn't last for very long. Ram forward Rahim Gordon gave CIU its tying goal, drawing even at 1-1.
- 34:33 CIU forward Rahim Gordon was active in the second half, getting involved again, narrowly missing another scoring attempt saved by the Montreat keeper.
- 03:11 Despite CIUs offensive efforts, Montreat pulled ahead late in the second half after a score by Juan De Los Rios, giving Montreat the final 2-1 victory.

CIU Goal Keeper - Hazel Ley
- The young freshman keeper started his second game as a Ram tonight. Despite the loss, Ley kept his team in the game in the first half, registering sevens on the night.
CIU Foward - Rahim Gordon
- Gordon was a key offensive player for the Rams, scoring CIUs only goal of the contest.
