How it Happened:
CIU women's soccer took on the Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs Saturday at 3:00 PM. The Rams would fall short after an intense contest.
As the game started both teams battled to gain possession of the ball. The first half saw many opportunities for the Bulldogs, but they were unable to capitalize due to excellent goalkeeping by
Nadia Threatt. The Bulldogs would begin to put pressure on the Ram's back line, registering six shots in the first half. The Rams would attempt to create chances but would be denied with three shots on net in the first half. The game remained scoreless heading into the second period of play.
TWU started the second half with a quick goal. Bulldog forward Samantha Green scored in the 47th to give TWU the lead. The Rams recovered and held the Bulldogs at bay until the 83rd minute. Bulldog forward Hannah Daring extended the Bulldogs lead with a goal kicked from the top of the box. The Rams tried to rally late and draw even with TWU, but would be unsuccessful. The final tally would read 2-0 Tennessee Wesleyan.
The Rams look to their next contest on October 2nd against St. Andrews University.
