CIU men's soccer battled the Kentucky Christian University Knights Saturday in Grayson Kentucky. CIU would end up with six goals on the day with five different Rams finding the back of the net.
CIU started quickly scoring two goals in the first five minutes of the game. Rams forward
Praise Kabwe scored both goals to give the Rams an early 2-0 lead over the Knights. CIU forward
Rahim Gordon scored the Rams third goal of the game in the 29th minute. The Rams headed into the second half with a 2-0 lead over KCU.
The Rams began the second half much like the first with two quick goals in the first ten minutes. CIU midfielder
Logan Jolly scored in the 53rd minute. Rams forward
Romulo Barreto would score four minutes later in the 57th minute to give the Rams a massive lead of 5-0. Marcos Da Paz found the back of the net in the 70th minute to score CIUs sixth and final goal of the night. CIU goal keeper
Hugo Lemus would notch his first shut out of the season.
"Good team win today. We hope this momentum will carry us into a tough slate of games next week" said Head Coach
Bill Brindley. CIU claims their second victory of the year after a resounding victory over the Knights.
The Rams take on Bob Jones on September 17th in Greenville, SC.
