CIU men's soccer took the field this Saturday against Piedmont International University. The Rams were hungry for a win, and they would be satisfied as they orchestrated a 6-1 victory over the Bruins.

The first half opened with CIU dominating the time of possession. The Rams got to work early with a goal from Rahim Gordon assisted by Marcos Da Paz. The Bruins recovered from this early set back with a goal of their own from Marcos Diaz in the 16th minute of play. It didn't take long for the Rams to find the back of the net again as Marcos Da Paz dribbled into the box and sent a screamer into the back of the net in the 21st minute of play to give CIU the 2-1 lead. Time would expire in the first half with the Rams up 2-1 over the Bruins.

The second half began with CIU continuing to look for scoring opportunities. That opportunity arose in the 53rd minute with a goal by Praise Kabwe assisted by Jonathan Muller. The Rams extended the scoring in the 59th minute with a goal scored by Marcos Da Paz to give CIU a 4-1 lead. Romulo Barreto got in on the action with an unassisted strike in the 66th minute of play. Marcos Da Paz would complete his second hat trick of the season with a goal in the 74th minute from a pass from Jonathan Muller. Muller, a midfielder from Chemnitz Germany, finished the day with three assists, distributing the ball well to the Ram forwards. The CIU defense stood firm throughout the day, blocking 12 out of 13 shooting opportunities from the Bruins. CIU would win their final home game of the season with a final score of 6-1 over the Bruins. The Rams improve to 7-7 overall on the season.

The Rams look to their next match on October 23rd as they take on Reinhardt University.
