CIU men's soccer returned to the pitch Thursday night against non-conference opponent Trinity Baptist College. The Rams would explode with a 5-1 win over the Eagles.Â
The first half opened up with high attacking pressure from CIU attackers, creating scoring opportunities early. Rams forward
Praise Kabwe would notch CIUs first goal of the night in the 10th minute of play. The Rams continued to press and found the back of the net again in the 24th minute with a goal from leading scorer Marcos Da Paz. The Rams would score their 3rd and final goal of the half in the 33rd minute with a goal from
Praise Kabwe. CIU lead at halftime 3-0.Â
The Rams continued their dominance in the second half with two quick scores from Marcos Da Paz and Doran Batterman to give the Rams a 5-0 lead. CIU looked for more scoring opportunities in the second half but wouldn't be able to convert these chances. The Eagles made a late press in the final minute of play to prevent a shutout on the road. CIU notched their 5th win on the year with a 5-1 victory over the Eagles.Â
The Rams head into a bye week this weekend but will return to action next Wednesday against Milligan College.Â
