For the first time since last October the Rams were back on Sessions Field. Tonight the Rams opened their season by welcoming Regent University to CIU for the first meeting between the two teams. The Rams took control of the game from the opening whistle and opened their season with a convincing 5-1 victory.

1st Half Highlights:

• Just over five minutes into the game the Royals were awarded a corner, but the Rams were able to get it out quick and push it down the field where Kaylyn Hernandez and Alanna Battermann worked together to find Sotiria Tsilionis who found the back of the net for the first goal of the season
• Just nine minutes later, Kaylyn Hernandez worked her way into the box and was fouled and awarded a penalty kick. She stepped up to the spot and converted on the penalty kick to give the Rams and early two goal lead
• The Rams continued to have their opportunities as they ended the half up 2-0, but had seven shots

2nd Half Highlights:

• The Rams continued to pepper the Royals goalie with shots, but in the beginning the Royals goalie was up for the challenge
• McKenzie Miller was the first Ram in the second half to find the back of the net when she got the ball from Rebecca Giancana
• Regent picked up their lone goal of the game with just under 22 minutes remaining in the game
• The Rams put the game away in the final twelve minutes with goals by Rebekah Reinhard and Tsilionis

• The Rams controlled the game with 24 shots overall and 12 on goal, while the Royals had 7 shots with three on goal...The Rams had 17 shots in the second half...Sotiria Tsilionis led the way with two goals, while McKenzie Miller, Rebekah Reinhard, and Kaylyn Hernandez each had a goal...Alanna Battermann picked up two points off her two assists...Sam Wammock picked up the win for the Rams...Grace Feldmann scored the lone goal for the Royals.
