The Columbia International University Women's Volleyball team has a busy week of games this week as they opened it at home tonight against cross town rival Allen University. The Rams beat the Yellow Jackets earlier in the year, but tonight was a little different as the Yellow Jackets won 3-1.
1st Set Highlights:
- The Rams started the game off right with a kill by CJ Hinson, but over the next couple points the two teams were evenly matched
- The Rams would take the lead, but over the game the Yellow Jackets would tie it once again
- The Rams would take a five point lead, 22-17, after a kills by CJ Hinson
- The Rams would win the first set 25-21 on a serving error
2nd Set Highlights:
- The Rams and Yellow Jackets would go back and forth over the first part of the set
- The Yellow Jackets would take a lead, 16-11
- The Rams would fight back and tie the game at 16 of aces and a kill by CJ Hinson
- The Yellow Jackets would regain the lead and win set two 25-18
3rd Set Highlights:
- The Yellow Jackets would take an early 8-1 lead
- The Ram would fight back to pull within three, 11-8
- The Yellow Jackets would pull ahead and win the third set 25-16
4th Set Highlights:
- The Yellow Jackets would race out to an early lead again, but the Rams would fight back and pull within one off a kill by De'Asija Harden
- The teams would go back and forth and pull within one on numerous occasions
- The Yellow Jackets would keep the lead and win set four 25-18
Box Score Highlights:
- The Yellow Jackets led the game with 40 kills, while the Rams had 35...The Rams had 33 assists with Mackenzie Sanchez having 31 of them...CJ Hinson led the Rams with 12 kills and De'Asija Harden had 10...Bruna Barrozo had 17 digs for the Rams...Andjela Cutovic had 14 kills.
