Rams Conquer the Knights

The Columbia International University Women's Soccer team came into tonight's game riding a three game winning streak and they were looking to push it to four. The Rams welcomes the Knights of St. Andrews University to make up a game that was postponed in September. The Rams left no doubt who was the better team as they won 4-0. With the win the Rams move to 8-4-2 on the season.

1st Half Highlights:
  • On the first shot of the game the Rams scored their first goal of the night. Rebecca Giancana got the ball from Kaylyn Hernandez and found a weak spot behind the keeper to give the Rams the early lead
  • Over the next four minutes the Rams would get off five shots, but would still only have the one goal
  • With just under eleven minutes left in the half the Rams would get their second goal off a corner kick. Taylor Kyle took the corner and sent a beautiful ball in where it found the head of McKenzie Miller
  • At the half the Rams would lead 2-0
2nd Half Highlights:
  • The Knights got off the first shot of the second half, but the Rams would then take over a go on attack
  • With 12:27 left in the game the Rams would finally get their third goal as Sotiria Tsilionis found the back of the net off assists from McKenzie Miller and Tayor Kyle
  • Less than three minutes later the Rams would get their final goal of the night as Esther Edwards scored her first goal of her senior year
Box Score Highlights:
  • The Rams controlled the game as they had 21 shots with 13 on goal, while the Knights had six shots with two on goal...The Rams held a small 3-2 corner kick advantage...Giancana, Miller, Tsilionis, and Edwards each had a goal...Taylor Kyle had two assists tonight...Madi Castro led the Knights with three shots
Up Next: The Rams will be back on the field this Saturday when they travel to Kentucky to take on Union College. Kick-off is scheduled for 5 pm.
