Da Paz Hat Trick Propels the Rams to Victory

The Columbia International University Men's Soccer team was riding high coming into tonight's game against St. Andrews University after beating rival Bob Jones University on Tuesday. The Rams kept their foot on the gas as they won the conference game 5-2. With the win the Rams move to 9-5 on the season.

1st Half Highlights:
  • The Rams would get off the first shots of the game when shots by Marcos Dapaz and Ricky Prestridge went high
  • The Rams were then awarded a penalty kick, but couldn't convert for the early lead
  • The Knights would score the games first goal in the 26th minute
  • Less than four minutes later the Rams got on the board as passes from Ricky Prestridge and Marcos DaPaz found the foot of Nheit Rocham who tied the game for the Rams
  • However, in the 13th minute the Knights would pull ahead once again
  • With just under twelve minutes to go in the half the Rams would tie the game as DaPaz converted the Rams second penalty kick of the night
2nd Half Highlights:
  • The first shot of the second half gave the Rams their first lead of the night as Dapaz found the back of the night once again of a pass from Romulo Barreto
  • With fourteen minutes left in the game DaPaz finished off his hat trick off across from Rahim Gordon to give the Rams a 4-2 lead
  • Victor Maron joined in on the party as he scored the Rams fifth and final goal with just under twelve minutes left to play
Box Score Highlights:
  • The Rams lead the game with 18 shots and eight on goal, while the Knights had 11 shots with six on goal...The Knights had a 5-3 advantage in corners...Hugo Lemus had a good night in goal with four saves...Marcos DaPaz led the Rams with three goals and recorded his second hat trick of the year...Nheit Rocham and Victor Maron recorded the other two goals...Ruben Vaca and Julio Rico had the Knights two goals.
Up Next: The Rams will be on the road this Saturday when they travel to Kentucky to take on Union College. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 pm.
