CIU head men's soccer coach will enter his first season at the helm for the Rams in 2026.Gehman comes to CIU following a successful tenure as head coach at Penn State Harrisburg, where he compiled a 61-17-17 record over five seasons. During his time with the Nittany Lions, Gehman guided the program to three conference championships, four conference finals appearances, and three NCAA Tournament berths, while building a nationally competitive program rooted in player development and culture.
"Anthony is a program builder whose faith, leadership, and passion for discipleship align seamlessly with the mission of CIU," said Vasiloff. "He understands that success here is measured not only by wins and championships, but by the spiritual growth, character development, and lifelong impact we have on our student-athletes. We are excited to welcome him and his family to CIU."
A proven recruiter, Gehman recruited 50 student-athletes in four years at Penn State Harrisburg, including 25 Division I and II transfers, while helping his program earn multiple Top-25 rankings and a .900 conference winning percentage.
Prior to his head coaching role, Gehman gained Division I experience as an assistant coach at Virginia Military Institute, where he helped recruit the highest-ranked class in program history and contributed to the program's lowest goals-against average in a decade. He also served as an assistant coach with Alloy Soccer Club and as Assistant Director of Coaching with Rockbridge Youth Soccer Club, overseeing player development initiatives from the youth to collegiate levels.
"I can't wait to get started at CIU," said Gehman. "It's been a lifelong dream of mine to coach in an environment where the number one priority is to create and foster relationships to build the kingdom of Christ. I look forward to creating a championship-quality mentality and environment that pursues excellence at the highest level. I want to thank Athletic Director Stefan, President Bill Jones, and the entire CIU community for giving me this opportunity to lead such a historical and inspiring men's soccer program."
A former student-athlete himself, Gehman was a four-year letterwinner for the Lancaster Bible College men's soccer program. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Young Adult Ministry and Bible Studies from Lancaster Bible College and is currently completing a Master's degree in Psychology at Penn State University. Gehman will assume leadership of the CIU men's soccer program immediately.
