A native of the Columbia area, Danny Reese is in his third year on the men's basketball staff at CIU.

Reese graduated from Brookland-Cayce High School in 1994 and went on to play at Wabash Valley College (Ill.) and Northeastern State University (Okla.). His final year at Northeastern was his most successful, garnering Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Year and leading the Riverhawks to a conference title and a berth in the NCAA Division II tournament. NSU finished in the nation's top ten in 2000-01.

He obtained an associate degrees from Wabash in 1999 and is completing work on his bachelor's at CIU.

His involvement in several ministries, including U-Turn for Christ and Urban Discovery Ministries, combined with his athletic experience and knowledge of the game, makes him a great fit and mentor to the young men on the team.

"My heart beats for helping empower the next generation of saints to have a champion mindset for Christ and to walk under His authority," Reese said.
