MONTREAT, N.C. — CIU women's soccer fell 1-0 to Montreat College on Wednesday after conceding a first-half goal at Pulliam Stadium.
Montreat's Leigh Harpel scored in the 26th minute following a corner kick. The Rams (1-2-3, 0-2-1 AAC) pressed for an equalizer, taking eight of their 11 shots in the second half.
Lohrane Boaventura, Alexa Thoman and Annabella Vuelta each put a shot on goal for CIU. Lily Vengelis led the Rams with three shots, while goalkeeper Hailey Resetar made three saves. Montreat (1-4, 1-3) finished with a narrow 12-11 edge in shots.
CIU returns home Wednesday, Sept. 30, to face Reinhardt University.
