GREENVILLE, S.C. - CIU opened its cross country season at the Bruins XC Night Classic with a program highlight on the men's side and two solid finishes on the women's side. 

In the men's 6K, Jacobo Garcia-Rivera set the CIU men's 6K school record in 20:40.5 to lead the Rams. He was followed by Spencer Evans in 22:06.0 and Joey Canning in 22:10.0, completing CIU's order of finish.

In the women's 4K, Elizabeth Gustafson paced CIU in 17:41.7, with Morgan Hartman next in 18:26.3 to round out the Rams' finishers. The Rams will head to the Bulldog Stampede hosted by Wingate University (N.C.) for their next meet on Saturday, Sept. 20.
