COLUMBIA - CIU baseball recorded their first Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) series sweep of the season as they took down Kentucky Christian University (16-3) in game three on Thursday. The series marks the last home conference games of the 2025 season for the Rams, who now hold a 28-17 mark overall and a 14-13 record in the AAC.
Game Three: CIU 16 KCU 3: After trailing through the first two innings, the Rams got rolling in the third. Daniel Sidoti, Kai Smith, and Colton Lopez all doubled in the bottom of the inning as the Rams tacked on five runs. CIU's next scoring spurt came in the fifth inning, putting the Rams ahead by 11-3. The bottom of the fifth frame was highlighted by two RBI singles from Graham Peeler and Bradley Garland. More runs were added in the fifth due to doubles from Lopez, Smith, and Jordan Murphy, while Cody Goodwin also recorded a hit in the inning. Craigee Breach closed out KCU in the top of the seventh as CIU picked up their second run-rule of the series.
