Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Rams' memorable postseason run ends in NCCAA semi's

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — CIU men's soccer's postseason journey came to a close Friday as the Rams fell 4–0 to Grace College in the NCCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship semifinal at the Austin-Tindall Sports Complex. The loss ends CIU's season at 7–9–2 and marks the program's third trip to the NCCAA semifinals since 2021.

After holding Grace scoreless through the first 45 minutes, CIU saw the match shift quickly early in the second half. An own goal in the 48th minute broke the deadlock, and Grace added goals in the 50th, 54th and 74th minutes to build its advantage. The Rams totaled nine shots — three on target — but were unable to break through offensively.

Goalkeeper Vasilios Diakomihalis recorded two saves before Chase Knizek finished the match in net. Ive Celic led CIU with three shots, while Jonathan Scarpeta tallied one on frame.

Despite the setback, CIU's run to the national semifinals continued a strong recent history for the program, marking its third appearance in the NCCAA final four over the last five seasons.
