COLUMBIA, S.C. — CIU women's basketball stepped out of Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play Tuesday night and earned a measure of revenge, defeating fellow NCCAA member Bob Jones 56–41 at the Moore Fitness Center. The Rams improve to 4–6 on the season, while the Bruins fall to 4–4.
CIU controlled the game defensively from start to finish, holding Bob Jones to just four points in the third quarter and 25.9 percent shooting for the night. The Rams forced 22 turnovers and posted a 45–30 rebounding edge, including 16 offensive boards that led to consistent second-chance opportunities.
Selah George led CIU with 17 points on 8-of-12 shooting and added six rebounds. Lily Dunn contributed eight points with two made threes, while Katie Johnson recorded five points, four assists and four rebounds. Jerchel Geathers-Washington added four rebounds, two steals and two points, and Bryanna Belton provided four points and eight rebounds off the bench. CIU's reserves combined for 24 points to help maintain the lead throughout the night.
The Rams return to AAC action on Saturday, Dec. 6, traveling to face Milligan University at 1:00 p.m. ET.
