CIU plays Thanksgiving tune-up at Presbyterian in exhibition matchup

CLINTON, S.C. — CIU men's basketball wrapped up its final contest before Thanksgiving with a 93–50 exhibition loss to NCAA Division I Presbyterian College on Wednesday afternoon at the Ross E. Templeton Center. The result does not count toward CIU's season record.

The Rams trailed 43–27 at halftime and were unable to slow the Blue Hose offense in the second half, as Presbyterian shot 63.6 percent from the field and finished with eight made three-pointers. CIU shot 36.7 percent for the game and was held to six made free throws.

KJ Anderson led CIU with 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting, including three three-pointers. Jeffrey Clark II and Jackson Inman each added six points, while JJ Vaughan scored five. Tre Kirk and Isaac Thorpe chipped in three points apiece, with Thorpe knocking down a late three. Johnny Whysong pulled down seven rebounds and recorded three steals to go with two points and an assist.

Presbyterian controlled the boards 36–21 and converted 19 CIU turnovers into 27 points.

The Rams now turn their attention to NAIA "The Show," where they will face No. 3 Freed-Hardeman on Friday, Nov. 28, at 5:15 p.m. ET in Kingsport, Tenn., hosted at the MeadowView Conference Resort and Convention Center.
