THOMASVILLE, Ga. — CIU women's basketball fell on the road Saturday afternoon, dropping a 74–48 contest to Thomas University in the Rams' second game of the season.
CIU (0–2) saw three players finish in double figures, led by Katie Johnson who scored 13 points to go along with three rebounds and two assists. Magdalena Mihaljevic added 12 points, knocking down three shots from beyond the arc, while Selah George posted 10 points and two rebounds.
Despite a competitive start, Thomas gained separation in the first quarter and carried a 23–13 lead after ten minutes. The Rams continued to battle defensively—collecting 12 steals as a team—but Thomas' rebounding advantage and efficiency from long range helped maintain the margin.
Jerchel Geathers-Washington contributed four rebounds for CIU, while Audrey Teasley added four boards, two steals, and a block off the bench. Lily Dunn chipped in three points, four rebounds, and three steals in 28 minutes of action. CIU finished with 35 rebounds, including 10 on the offensive glass.
CIU returns home for its next matchup on Thursday, Nov. 6, as the Rams host Toccoa Falls (Ga.) at 6:30 p.m. ET inside the Moore Fitness Center.
