COLUMBIA, S.C. — CIU women's basketball came up just short on Thursday night, falling 50–44 to Toccoa Falls in a non-conference matchup inside the Moore Fitness Center. The loss moves the Rams to 0–3 on the season.
After trailing 17–9 following the opening quarter, CIU responded with a strong second period to pull within two at halftime, 28–26. The contest remained tight throughout the second half, but Toccoa Falls converted late to hold on for the win.
Katie Johnson led the Rams with 14 points and four steals while also adding an assist. Selah George followed with seven points and five rebounds, and Bryanna Belton provided a spark off the bench with six points and four rebounds. Katlynn Chinn added seven points while going 3-for-4 at the free-throw line.
CIU controlled the glass with 47 total rebounds, including 16 on the offensive end, and finished with 20 bench points.
CIU returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 6, as the Rams travel to face Bob Jones University (S.C.) at 2 p.m. ET.
