EAST BEND, N.C. - CIU baseball continues to battle their way through rain delays and schedule changes in the NCCAA South Region Tournament, but did not let it affect them as they moved past Carolina University (N.C.) on Saturday afternoon 3-1 to advance to the championship game.
CIU 3 Carolina 1: Scott McDonough answered Carolina's solo home run in the first with a two-run shot of his own to put CIU in front 2-1. The Rams tacked on another in the third when Collin Greer singled to put Colton Lopez across the plate (3-1). Deric Hanko did not allow another hit in the final four frames to lift CIU to victory over the Bruins.
