JACKSONVILLE, Ala. - Junior JJ Vaughan kept his recent hot streak going on Monday night, scoring 18 points as the CIU men's basketball team lost to Jacksonville State 89-59 in an NCAA Division I exhibition game.
The Rams trailed the Gamecocks just 36-28 at the intermission after tying the game at 26-26 at the five-minute mark in the game's first half.
While CIU was outscored by digits in the final 20 minutes, Vaughan managed to knock down six triples, going 6-of-10 from beyond the arc. James Davis also had an impressive night from long range, going a perfect 3-for-3 from three with 13 points.
Brandon Hunt led the Rams on the glass with six rebounds to go along with nine points.
