HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - The CIU men's cross country team hit the road to compete in the 17th Annual Shark Invitation, hosted by USC Beaufort. On the flat, grassy course, the Rams took on competitors from NCAA DI and DII schools. 

Josh Zhang led the charge for the Rams, crossing the line at 28:25.1, with Joey Canning right on his heels at 28:25.2. Gavin Barfield was the next to clock in, finishing at 29:47.8. 

Junior Spencer Evans kept the pace strong, finishing in 30:16.8, and Malik Beaver rounded out the 8k with a solid time of 31:06.6. The Rams finished 10th out of 14th with a total time of 2:28:01. 

Up Next: CIU is back on the course in two weeks, competing in the BJU Invite 6k / 8k on Saturday, Oct. 26.
