Volleyball keeps cruising in sweep of Brenau

GAINESVILLE, Ga. - CIU volleyball added yet another win to their undefeated start to the season on Tuesday as they rolled over Brenau (Ga.) 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 2-12). The Rams are now 12-0 on the season and 3-0 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC). Dating back to last year, the Rams have not lost a regular-season game since Oct. 8 of 2022, putting their regular-season win streak at 24 games, the longest in program history.

The Rams never trailed in the match, scoring the first point in each set. CIU dominance showed in the box score with 44 kills versus 24 from the Golden Tigers. As a team, the Rams posted a .370 hitting percentage, only committing ten attack errors.

Coming off an impressive week, Hanah Weiss did not disappoint, recording 15 kills and a .414 hitting percentage. Kira Rymer Attaway was the other Ram in double-digit kills, posting ten while being tremendously accurate, hitting .643. Freshman Gracen Norris contributed to the Rams offensively with five kills (.444), while setter Kamelia De Jesus led CIU with 25 assists.

Reigning AAC Defender of the Week, Kelcey Mangum was the Rams' dig leader with ten.

What Head Coach Katie Weiss is saying: "It has been a long start to the season playing our first 12 matches of the season away from home. Happy to get the win tonight and very excited to play our home opener on Friday."

Up next: CIU returns to the friendly confines of the Moore Fitness Center for a bout with Union College (Ky.) on Friday, Sept. 12 at 6:30 p.m. EST.
