CLEVELAND, GA. - CIU baseball hit the road to take on Truett McConnell (Ga.) to open up a week of five road games. The Rams took down the Bears last season 10-8 but would come up short in today's matchup.
CIU 2 TMU 6:
The Rams would strike first today, pushing Carter Willis across the plate after a single from Price Alexander. TMU responded in the bottom of the first, and then both teams remained scoreless until the fourth inning. CIU took the lead (2-1) thanks to a single from Shane Hammonds to score Emmanuel Maldonado. The Bears' offense came alive and scored five runs in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings to take the lead. CIU was unable to add runs in the contest's final two innings and fell 6-2 to TMU.

- Maldonado and Ryan Planas led the team with two hits a piece.
- Five other Rams picked up a hit, with Alexander and Hammonds collecting an RBI.
- Hunter Garris was impressive on the mound, allowing no earned runs and striking out one in 1.2 IP.
