Praise Kabwe scores two goals in Men's Soccer route of Brewton-Parker
MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - The CIU Rams men's soccer team secured another victory in convincing fashion Monday night, defeating Brewton-Parker College (Ga.) 5 to 0. Coming into the contest, Coach
Bill Brindley's team had outscored their opponents 9 to 0 and would continue their high-scoring ways against the Barons. This win adds yet another impressive performance to their undefeated 2021 season resume.
Score Summary:
Junior forward
Praise Kabwe would start the scoring off for the Rams, with a goal at the 3:24 mark of the first half, which
Romulo Barreto assisted. Then, roughly five minutes later, Barreto would score one of his own at the 8:41 mark, with
Praise Kabwe returning the favor with the assist. Shortly after the 32:00 minute,
Lucas Galdino would tack on another goal, which both
Daniel Ospina and
Eduardo Igor would assist on. The final goal of the half by the Rams would be an own goal that deflected off of a Baron defender. The Rams led 4-0 at the half.
Praise Kabwe would score the game's final goal in the second half at the 58:47 mark, off a pass from
Bryan Molina.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Hazel Ley continues his impressive start to the season, recording four saves against the Barons. Ley has yet to give up a goal so far this season.
