COLUMBIA, S.C. - It was quite the day at Miller Field as the CIU baseball team celebrated senior day and field's namesake, Dr. Johnny Miller, threw out in the first pitch in the Rams' game versus Bluefield. The day culminated in a CIU's 14-10 game three win over Bluefield, solidifying CIU's spot in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament. As of right now, CIU sits at 16-14 in the conference and has vaulted past St. Andrews in the standings, the Rams are now in 6th overall and would avoid the single-elimination play-in-game. CIU finishes the season at 28-24 overall, just two wins shy of a 30-win season in their first full year of competition.

Key Plays:
- After the Rams gave up a home run in the 1st inning, Joshua Hernandez homered on a fly ball to left field to score two runs.
- With CIU trailing 7-4 in the bottom of the 4th, Grant Bodison recorded his second home run of the series scoring two runs.
- The Rams added two more runs off a two-RBI single from Robert Bell as CIU took a 12-7 advantage in the bottom of the 6th inning.
- Bell contributed to CIU's cushion in the bottom of the 8th inning with a deep fly ball over the left-field wall to put CIU up 14-10.
Game Notes:
- Grant Bodison went an impressive 3-3 and was walked twice while scoring four runs and recording three RBI's and a home run.
- Joshua Hernandez continued a solid series with two hits, including a home run, two RBI's, and was walked twice.
- Robert Bell became the third Ram's player to reach double-digit home runs this season as he recorded his 10th homer. Bell also found success on the base paths with two steals.
- Alex Miller was superb on his senior day with three hits, three RBI's, and a base on balls in four at-bats.
- Shane Hammonds notched a triple on his only hit of the contest, while Rafael Gonzales tallied three singles.
- It took eight different CIU pitchers to take down Bluefield put ultimately, Christian Orr recorded the win, pitching two innings and throwing two strikeouts.
- CIU is currently third in the AAC in runs scored per game at 7.49.
