COLUMBIA, S.C. – After beating No. 1 Tennesee Wesleyan twice over the weekend, CIU baseball had one of the most dominant wins in the NAIA this season as they soundly defeated Morris College (1-5) in both games of Monday's doubleheader. The Rams scored the second-most runs in NAIA history in game one as CIU knocked off the Hornets 32-4. Morris didn't fair much better in the second game as CIU once again dispatched the Hornets by a score of 22-3. The Rams set several team records which will not be easily broken. CIU moves to 14-12 with the wins.
Game One (CIU 32 MC 4)
- CIU tied the NAIA single-game season-high for RBI's with 32 in game one.
- The Rams 32 runs are the second most in NAIA history after Hannibal Lagrange scored 34 runs on March 8th, 2021.
- Rafeal Gonzales had the second most RBI's in a game in program history in game one with six.
- A program-record 15 different players recorded an RBI, and a record 13 players recorded a hit.
- Joshua Hernandez picked four RBI's in just two at-bats notching his team's only triple of the game.
- Gabe Austin hit his second home run of the season and his first on Miller Field.
- Christian Orr and Christopher Seelbach allowed eight hits while combining for eight strikeouts with four apiece. Orr picks up the win and moves to 3-1 on the season.
Game Two (CIU 22 MC 3)
- Price Alexander tied Rafeal Gonzales for the second-most RBI's in a game with six in game two. Four of Alexander's RBI's came off his first career home run, which happened to be a grand slam.
- As a team, CIU recorded 20 RBI's and 15 hits.
- Carter Willis had a three-RBI game while also scoring four runs and including a home run.
- Dalton Langley notched his first win of the year with three strikeouts.

I was a little worried about the guys coming out flat today after the huge weekend we had. It was great to see the energy they brought today. I'm looking forward to another great conference opponent coming to town this Friday.
