MOBILE, Ala. - CIU men's soccer took on the top seed University of Mobile (Ala.) in the final game of the Mobile Bracket of this year's NAIA Men's Soccer Championship Opening Round on Saturday. The Rams claimed their first-ever NAIA national tournament win in program history on Thursday after taking down the University of the Cumberlands in overtime. However, the host school and NAIA No. 4 ranked University of Mobile proved to be too much for the Rams. CIU dropped just their third game of this historic season to move to 16-3.
Scoring Summary:
CIU was down early to the Mobile Rams as Alejo Binaghi would strike with an assist from Jose Sanabria. Later in the first period, the Mobile would increase their lead to two with a goal by Baptiste Gateau on an assists Angel Almiron. CIU could not convert on any of their four shots in the first period and would trail at the half, 2-0.
The Mobile Rams would score another goal at the 54:40 mark in the second period as Joshua Bynoe would find the net on an assist from Sebastian Jorgge. CIU would take five shots in the period and three corner kicks but were unable to get anything going offensively.
Romulo Barreto led the Rams with four shots, two of which were on goal.

The Rams hope to receive an at-large bid to the NCCAA Men's Soccer National Championship in Kissimmee, Fla taking place from Nov. 29 - Dec. 4.
