Barbourville, Ky – The CIU women's basketball team traveled to Kentucky Saturday to take on Union College for the second time this season. The first meeting between the two teams came back in December when the Rams fell to the Bulldogs. CIU entered the contest coming off a heartbreaking loss to Tennessee Wesleyan while Union went into the evening sitting in third place in the AAC standings. Unfortunately for the Rams, tonights result would mirror that of the December meeting and CIU would lose to the Bulldogs.
How It Happened
First Half UC 35 CIU 17: The Rams would trail by double-digits early in the first quarter, but a Jordan Sprueill bucket would cut the lead to 18-9 to end the first. Hannah Trawick would score four points for the Rams in the second quarter, but CIU would fall behind by double digits at halftime.
Second Half UC 82 CIU 44: Keniah Watkins had a solid performance for CIU in the third quarter putting points on the board. Watkins would get inside and score twice in the lane. The Rams put up 19 points in the fourth behind Watkins and Sprueill. The pair combined for ten points in the final period, but wouldn't be able to overcome the Rams large deficit.

- Jordan Sprueill scored 8 points and pulled down 6 rebounds.
- A contributing factor of late Tiona Walls scored 5 points while recording 6 rebounds.
- The Rams forced the Bulldogs into 21 turnovers while only giving it away 17 times themselves.
