Rams Dominate Preseason Scrimmage

Coach Farnsworth and the Rams traveled to Winston Salem North Carolina this past weekend to take on Piedmont International University in their first preseason game of the year. The Rams would leave with a solid 3 nil victory over the Bruins. Both teams competed over three 30-minute periods. "We are very happy with how we played tonight for our first preseason game" said CIU head women's soccer coach Kara Farnsworth.
CIU freshman Haley Hernandez opened the scoring for the Rams in the first 30-minute half with a chip in goal. That was followed by 2nd period goal scored by Taylor Kyle assisted by Haley Hernandez. Taylor Kyle would score her second goal of the evening in the 3rd period assisted by Soti Tsilions. "We had a long weekend away from home, and they worked really hard for this result." Farnsworth said.
The Rams hope to carry this early momentum into next week when they open the regular season against Allen University on Tuesday, August 27th. Farnsworth is looking forward to the upcoming year saying "We are really excited about the potential this team has going into the 2019 season."
