Rival Koalas Defeat the Rams
The Columbia International University Softball team made the short trip down Monticello Road to take on rival Columbia College. The Rams were coming of a great win against Bluefield College and the Koalas had not played in a week. The Rams and Koalas battled for fourteen innings between the two games and the Rams fell to the Koalas 2-1 in game one and 7-2 in game two.
Game one was tight through three innings, but two one run innings by the Koalas in the fourth and fifth inning put the Koalas ahead 2-0. The Koalas would hold onto the lead, but the Rams put the pressure on in the top of the seventh. The Rams got one on the board and were looking to tie or take the lead, but the Koalas shut down the Rams chances and took game one. Game two was a little different as the Koalas jumped out in front of the Rams and never looked back as they won 7-2.
The story will be updated once the final statistics are received.
Up Next: The Rams will be back in action on Monday at 1 & 3 pm as they take on Point University in their final conference games of the year.
