The Columbia International University Men's Basketball team honored their lone senior Damian Hurta before the game and were looking to send him out with a win against the conference leader Montreat College. The Rams and Cavaliers went back and forth, but a run in the second half lifted the Cavaliers to a 75-68 victory.

1st Half Highlights:

• The Rams started the game off right with a three by Damian Hurta
• The Cavaliers would get their first basket, but the Rams would score the next seven points highlighted by another three from Hurta
• The Cavaliers would pull within five, but a three by Arthur Pearson gave the Rams an eight point lead
• With eleven and a half minutes left in the half the Cavaliers fought back and were within two, but an offensive rebound and put back by Jeff McIlwain kept the Rams up by four
• The teams would tie at 18, 20, and 22 before the Cavaliers took their first lead of the game
• After four straight points by McIlwain and Pearson the Rams were back within two with just a minute and a half remaining before the break
• With just one second left on the clock McIlwian threw up a three that went in and the Rams were only down 36-32

2nd Half Highlights:

• Each team took a little bit of time to get going to start the second half, but back-to-back baskets by Tajae Anderson and Pearson pulled the Rams within two
• The Cavaliers would take a double digit lead with thirteen minutes left
• The Rams continued to fight and came back within single digits on a fast break layup by Pearson
• After the Cavaliers took their biggest lead of the game the Rams chipped away and after free throws by Tyrone Dantzler Jr. and four point from Anderson the Rams were within seven with two minutes left to play
• The Cavaliers would hit a free throw to go up by eight, but Brandon Doss scored al layup right after to pull within five
• However, the Rams were unable to find the right shots and fell 75-68 to the Cavaliers

• The Rams shot 35.1% (26-of-74) from the field and were just 7-of-27 from the three point line, while the Cavaliers shot 47.5% overall and were 15-of-32 from the free throw line...The Cavaliers dominated the boards with 54 rebounds to the Rams 34...The Rams forced the Cavaliers into 20 turnovers...Jeff McIlwain led the Rams with 15 points and six rebounds...Arthur Pearson had 11 points, five rebounds, and four assists...Eric Graham had 13 points off the bench...Damian Hurta had six points...Jordan Eaton led the Cavaliers with 15 points
