CLEVELAND, GA – CIU Men's basketball picked up their second Appalachian Athletic Conference win in a row Wednesday night as they knocked off the Truett-McConnell Bears. With the win, CIU moved to 3-4 in the conference while TMU dropped to 2-3 in AAC play. This was the ninth meeting all-time between the teams and only the second win over the Bears for CIU.
How It Happened
1st Half CIU 44 TMU 31: The Rams trailed early but would quickly bounce back and take a 13-6 lead behind five straight points from Elijah Spalding. The Bears would continue to battle, until Tajae Anderson would extend the advantage, scoring inside to push the Rams ahead 22-13 with 10:44 remaining in the half. TMU would get back within six-points, but an Eric Graham triple would once again give the Rams a nine-point edge. Minutes later, a deep ball from Anderson would give the Rams their largest lead of the half 39-24. CIU would take double-digit lead into the half, 44-31
2nd Half CIU 90 TMU 66: The Bears would trim the advantage to ten, to start the half; however, John Johnson and Graham would score on back to back possessions to regain control. The Rams would go on to open up the game behind Elijah Spalding, who exploded in the second half. Spalding would score 15 second-half points, helping the Rams extend their lead to over twenty. The Rams would go on to get the win 90-66.

- After missing the beginning of the year due to injury, Elijah Spalding had a season-high 22 points, shooting a phenomenal 4-5 from beyond the arc.
- Eric Graham continued his strong sophomore campaign picking up 15 points while Tajae Anderson chipped in 14 points.
- The Rams had a season-high 44 points off the bench.
- CIU continues to outshoot their opponents from deep as the Rams knocked down 14 threes shooting 42%.
