How It Happened
1st Half CIU 26 AU 23: Senior Jordan Sprueill would score the first 8 points of the game for the Rams, giving them an early lead. Allen would close the gap until threes by Queeneka Howard and Keniah Watkins would give the Rams the 14-10 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
The Yellow Jackets would tie the score early in the second quarter until Larissa Lee knocked down the deep ball, putting the Rams up 17-14. Buckets by freshman Tiona Walls and Sprueill would push the Rams ahead to their largest lead of the contest 26-14. The Rams would briefly take a 1-point lead after a Keniah Watkins free throw, but Allen would distance themselves and end the third quarter on a run leading 47-36.
The Rams would start the fourth quarter strong, and after scores from Briteny Brown and Sprueill, the Rams would cut the lead to just three on a Mary Catherine Outlaw layup.
