Volleyball Gets 20th Win of The Season

Columbia, SC - The CIU Rams can start looking ahead to post-season play as they picked up their 20th win of the season Tuesday evening over Allen University. CIU now sits at 20-19 after winning three of their last four conference games. The Rams could be as high as the 7th seed in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament depending on the how rest of the week in the conference turns out.

How It Happened

The Rams were fairly dominant all evening in their fourth win of the season over Allen. CIU would rarely trail in the first two sets winning set one 25-20 and set two 25-19. Set three would prove more challenging as the Rams would find themselves trailing midway through the third set. However, CIU would break free and go on a quick spurt to win the final set, 25-18.

Megan Lung would pick up where she left off last week with ten kills in the first set. Sofia Larsson and Aniya Marshall would also be bright spots for the Rams combining for 5 kills in the first two sets of the match.

In the third set, Lily Tang and Emma Munday would step in and shoulder the majority of the setting as Mackenzie Sanchez sat out for a short period of time. De'Asija Harden made a crucial impact during the third set as well, coming alive with six of her twelve kills during the final game.
