CIU men's soccer took on Saint Andrews University in Laurinburg NC this afternoon. The Rams left North Carolina with a convincing victory over the Knights.
The Rams began the first half looking to dominate time of possession. CIU capitalized on this in the 19th minute with a goal from forward Marcos Da Paz. CIU struck again ten minutes later in the 29th minute with yet another goal from Da Paz. The Rams continued their fast start with another score by
Praise Kabwe in the 38th minute assisted by Marcos Da Paz. The Rams headed into the second half with a commanding 3-0 lead over the Knights.
SAU made defensive adjustments coming out of the break and managed to hold CIU scoreless. The Knights attempted to make a late push with a goal from Andre Roberts in the 79th minute. CIU goalkeeper
Hugo Lemus would finish a solid day with 11 saves. The Rams would knock off the Knights with a 3-1 win.
The Rams look to their next match against Union College this Saturday at 7:00 PM.
