The Columbia International University Women's Basketball team welcomed the third best team in the conference to the Moore Fitness Center tonight. The Point Skyhawks were matched by the Rams all game as the Rams looked to pick up their first win of the year. However, a decisive first quarter lifted the Skyhawks past the Rams 58-45.

1st Quarter Highlights:

• The Skyhawks would get on the board first with a three just thirty seconds into the game
• Lakelyn Malovic would score the Rams first five points in a thirty second spand as they took a 5-4 lead
• Britney Brown would force a Skyhawk turnover and take the ball down the court to convert and give the Rams a 7-4 lead
• The Skyhawks would close the quarter out on a 12-0 run and lead 16-7 after the first quarter

2nd Quarter Highlights:

• Mary Catherine Outlaw would score the first points of the second quarter as she took the pass from Larissa Lee and nailed a three
• The teams would trade baskets over the next six minutes as the Rams only trailed by nine
• The Skyhawks would take a double digit lead towards the end of the quarter
• The Rams pulled within 10 after a layup by Queeneka Howard with twenty-one seconds left in the quarter, but the Skyhawks would score to take a 31-19 lead at half

3rd Quarter Highlights:

• The Skyhawks would get on the board first, but then Jordan Sprueill scored three straight points to trim the Skyhawks lead
• Hannah Trawick pulled the Rams back within ten points on a layup. Two minutes later she was back at it as she pulled down the offensive rebound and put it right back up as the Rams trimmed the lead to single digits
• The Skyhawks would score the next six points, but a three by Jay Mazyck got the Rams back on the board
• The Skyhawks would lead 42-30 after the third quarter

4th Quarter Highlights:

• Howard got the Rams on the board just 45 seconds into the fourth
• The Rams would pull to within seven after two straight baskets by Sprueill
• The Skyhawks would once again push their lead to double figures, but four straight points from Britney Brown trimmed the lead to seven again
• The Skyhawks would score the final six points of the game and win 58-45

Box Score Highlights:

• Each team struggled from the floor as the Rams shot 26.6% (17-of-64) and were 2-of-18 from beyond the arch, while the Skyhawks shot 25.4% (17-of-67) and were 4-of-27 from the three point line...Each team had 50 rebounds as the Skyhawks had 52 and the Rams had 50...Each team had 19 turnovers as well...Britney Brown led the Rams with 12 points and chipped in five rebounds...Jordan Sprueill had 7 points and 13 rebounds...Queeneka Howard, Lakelyn Malovic, and Hannah Trawick all had six points...Destinee Webster led the Skyhawks with 22 points
