The Columbia International University Men's Basketball team had almost a week off before their game against St. Andrews University tonight. The Rams did not look like they missed a beat as they had the hot hands tonight shooting over 50% and leading by 30 at points in the game. The Rams would slay the Knights winning 90-66 and moving to 13-9 (8-8 AAC) on the year, while the Knights fall to 6-16 (5-11 AAC).
1st Half Highlights:
- The Knights got on the board first with a three, but the Rams would match it with a jumper by Arthur Pearson
- The Rams would tie the game at four as Tyrone Dantzler Jr. found a wide open Jeff McIlwain for the layup
- The Rams would take their first lead of the game on a layup by Eric Graham, but the teams would tie at six and eight
- The Rams regained the lead on back to back baskets by Pearson
- The Rams took their first double digit lead of the game on threes by Corey Benton and Dantzler Jr.
- The Rams continued to pour it on with five straight points by Dantzler Jr. to take a 28-10 lead
- The Rams pushed their lead to twenty points with 6:14 left in the half on a layup by McIlwain
- With just over three minutes left in the half, the Knights would pull to within 11 points of the Rams
- Back-to-back threes by Brandon Doss pushed the Rams lead back to 17 points
- At the half the Rams led 49-37 and shot 62.5% in the first half
2nd Half Highlights:
- The Rams started the second half with a three by Damian HurtaÂ
- The Rams would go on a 16-0 run to blow the game wide open and lead 70-41
- Back-to-back threes by Tajae Anderson would push the Rams lead to 33 with just under eleven minutes left in the game
- The Rams would continue to hit shots and hold onto a solid lead throughout the rest of the game
- The Knights closed out the game with two free throws, but the Rams were not worried as they dominated with a 90-66 victory
