The Columbia International University Women's Basketball team made the trip to Milligan College tonight to take on the Buffaloes. In the first meeting between the teams, the Rams pushed the game to overtime, but the Buffaloes came out victorious. Tonight was a different game as the Buffaloes were to much for the Rams as they won 90-44.
1st Quarter Highlights:
- The Rams got back to back baskets by Queeneka Howard and Jordan Sprueill in the opening minute and half of the game
- The Buffaloes would regain the lead, but a basket by Amia Stone Johnson tied the game at six
- The Rams would take the lead with just over five minutes left in the quarter on two free throws by Howard
- The Buffaloes would close out the quarter on a 17-5 run
2nd Quarter Highlights:
- The Rams would get on the board three minutes into the quarter on a layup by Britney Brown
- Mary Catherine Outlaw would follow that with a three to pull the Rams within eight
- After a three by the Buffaloes another basket by Outlaw kept the Buffaloes lead at single digits
- The Buffaloes would go into halftime up 43-27
3rd Quarter Highlights:
- The Buffaloes opened the third quarter up on a 13-0 run and took a commanding lead
- Brown would score the Rams first points of the quarter
- The Rams continued to struggle from the field as the Buffaloes ran up their lead
- Sprueill would close out the quarter with a layup for the Rams
4th Quarter Highlights:
- The teams traded baskets at the beginning of the quarter
- With just over three minutes left in the game the Buffaloes would push their lead as high as 40
- At the end of the game the Rams fell 90-44
Box Score Highlights:
- The Rams struggled from the floor as they shot just 29.7% and were only 3-of-13 from the three point line, while the Buffaloes shot 48.4% and were 16-of-20 from the free throw line...The Buffaloes dominated the Rams on the glass with a 55 to 28 advantage...The Rams were hurt by 15 turnovers...Queeneka Howard led the Rams with 9 points and Jordan Sprueill had 8 points and 7 rebounds...Britney Brown and Keniah Watkins each had eight points off the bench...The Buffaloes had three players record 12 points.
