The Columbia International University Women's Soccer team took to the road to take on Tennessee Wesleyan University in the first conference road game. The Rams and Bulldogs were evenly matched as each team fought to a 1-1 tie. With the tie the Rams move to 4-1-1 on the year, while the Bulldogs move to 1-5-1.
1st Half Highlights:
- The Bulldogs got off the first shots of the game over an extended period of time, but with just under 29 minutes left in the half the Rams got their first shot and corner
- The teams would then settle in and go back and forth for much of the half, but with just under two minutes in the half Alanna Battermann was able to cross the ball to Mikki Olson who floated it over the keeper to give the Rams the 1-0 lead
- The Rams would hold that lead as they went into the half
2nd Half Highlights:
- The Rams came out on attack as Rebekah Reinhard and Taylor Kyle each had a shot
- However, the Bulldogs would work it down the field and tie the game at one just six minutes in to the second half
- The teams would once again go back and fourth as they had their chance, but with neither team able to convert the game went into overtime
1st Overtime Highlights:
- The first overtime belonged to the Bulldogs as they registered the only two shots, but they went high and wide so onto the second overtime the game went
2nd Overtime Highlights:
- The second overtime was all Rams as McKenzie Miller had her shot saved by the Bulldogs keeper
- Another shot by Battermann with twenty-one seconds remaining went just wide and the teams settled for the 1-1 tie
Box Score Numbers:
- The Rams held a small 17-15 shot advantage as each team had nine shots on goal...Sam Wammock had a great game with eight saves for the Rams...The Rams also had five corners...Mikki Olson had the Rams lone goal...Olson, Miller, and Kyle all had two shots on goal...Lauren Cunningham led the Bulldogs with her goal.
