Rams Fall on the Road to the Bulldogs

After winning their first ever conference game on Tuesday the Columbia International University Men's Soccer team was back in action today as they made up their game with Tennessee Wesleyan University. The Rams were looking to stay perfect in conference against a Bulldogs team that is receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 poll. The Bulldogs controlled most of the game and beat the Rams 2-0. With the loss the Rams fall to 5-1 on the season, while the Bulldogs move to 6-3 on the year.

1st Half Highlights:
  • The Bulldogs went on attack first as they pressured the Rams from the start and just fourteen minutes in the Bulldogs scored their first goal
  • The Bulldogs would continue to attack, but the Rams would get their first shot off the foot of Nathanael Ruth
  • At the half the Rams trailed by one
2nd Half Highlights:
  • The Rams went on attack to begin the half as they got off a shot and were awarded a corner right away
  • However, the Bulldogs would score their second goal of the game just over six minutes into the half
  • The Rams would pressure the Bulldogs more in the second half, but were unable to find the back of the net and fell 2-0
Box Score Numbers:
  • The Bulldogs had 17 shots with 11 on goal, while the Rams had seven shots with six on goal...Dominik Schleinitz had nine saves for the Rams...The Rams also had four corners...Ruth and Marcos DaPaz had two shots on goal a piece...Harry Baggaley had the Bulldogs two goals.
