The Columbia International University Women's Basketball team took the road looking to pick up their first win of the season against the Bulldogs of Tennessee Wesleyan University. The Rams matched the Bulldogs for three quarters, but a strong fourth quarter lifted the Bulldogs past the Rams, 74-56.
1st Quarter Highlights:
- The Rams got on the board first with a two by Lakelyn Malovic
- The Bulldogs would take the lead and move out in front 8-4
- After two straight three's by Britney Brown and Larissa Lee gave the Rams a 12-10 lead with 4:29 left in the quarter
- The two teams would go back and forth and after the first ten minutes were tied at 15
2nd Quarter Highlights:
- Renee Carter got the Rams on the board with a free throw
- The teams would trade baskets, but the Bulldogs would take a 27-20 lead
- The Rams would trim the lead to three, 27-24, after two jumpers by Hannah Trawick and Jordan Sprueill
- At the half the Bulldogs would lead 29-24
3rd Quarter Highlights:
- Each team struggled to get going in the third quarter, but the Rams first basket would come off a three by Lee
- The Bulldogs would take a double digit lead with 4:46 left in the quarter, but a three by Amia Stone Johnson trimmed the lead back to single digits
- With less than a minute left in the quarter a three by Carter pulled the Rams within three, but at the end of the quarter the Bulldogs led 49-44
4th Quarter Highlights:
- Jordan Sprueill got the Rams on the board with a two to pull the Rams back within three
- The Bulldogs went on a small run and regained their double digit lead
- The Rams would get a couple more baskets, but fell 74-56
