Eagles Fly Past the Rams in Exhibition Game

The Columbia International University Men's Basketball team closed out the first half of their season against Embry-Riddle today in an exhibition game. The Rams and Eagles were evenly matched, but a hot shooting game for the Eagles pushed them to a 93-69 victory. The Rams close out the first half of the season with a 6-6 record.

1st Half Highlights:
  • Tyrone Dantzler Jr. scored the first four points of the game
  • The Eagles would take their first lead after a three, but a jumper by Corey Benton put the Rams back in front
  • The Rams would regain the lead after a three by Dantzler Jr.
  • The Eagles would tie the game at 11 and then regain the lead
  • The Rams would trim the lead to single digits three times, but were not able to tie the game
  • At the half the Eagles led 52-32
2nd Half Highlights:
  • The Rams would score the first four points again as Jeff McIlwain and Brandon Doss each had two points
  • The Eagles would run their lead up, but the Rams were able to trim it with a three by Benton
  • Points by Doss and Dantzler pulled the Rams closer with under ten minutes left in the game
  • The Rams and Eagles would continue to battle, but at the end the Rams fell 93-69
