Rams Drop Final Home Match

The Columbia International University Women's Volleyball team played their final home match tonight, however it was off campus due to homecoming festivities. The Rams welcomed the top team in the AAC, Reinhardt University. The two teams went back and forth in the first set, but the Eagles would win 3-0.

1st Set Highlights:
  • The two teams went back and forth early in the set as the two teams would trade points
  • The Rams would first tie the game at 14 off an error by the Eagles, they would then tie it at 15 off a kill by CJ Hinson before grabbing the lead on an ace by Tyliahia Williams
  • The Eagles would regain the lead and go up 24-21, but three straight points by the Rams tied the game at 24
  • The Rams would get the next point, but three straight by the Eagles allowed them to take the first set 27-25
2nd Set Highlights:
  • The Eagles raced out to an early 9-3 lead in the second set
  • The Rams tired to fight their way back in as they wer able to chip away at the deficit, but in the end the Eagles took set two 25-11
3rd Set Highlights:
  • The Eagles would once again take the lead this time 10-4
  • The Rams would pull within three off an ace by Mackenzie Sanchez
  • The Eagles would push their lead to double digits and win the set 25-14
Box Score Highlights:
  • The Eagles led the match with 43 kills, while the Rams had 25...The Rams also had 22 assists and 42 digs...De'Asija Harden led the Rams with 10 kills, while CJ Hinson had six...Mackenzie Sanchez had 21 assists...Bruna Barrozo led the Rams with 12 digs...Cheetara Bing and Isabelle Diaz each had eight kills for the Eagles.
Up Next: The Rams will be back in action tomorrow as they travel to Truett-McConnell University in their final conference game. The game time is set for 1 pm.
