Rams and Royals Set to Battle in NCCAA Region Championship
For the second year in a row the Columbia International University Men's Soccer has advanced to the NCCAA South Region Championship game. Last year the Rams took on Southern Wesleyan University and fell 2-1 in double overtime. This year it is the same championship, but a different team as the Rams will take on the Royals of Warner University. Tomorrow game will be played in Lake Wales, Florida with kickoff scheduled for 2 pm.

Columbia International: 11-7
Warner: 11-5-1

Season Review:

Columbia International: The Rams opened the season 5-0 defeating three region opponents. The Rams would hit a rough patch at the beginning of conference play going 2-5. The Rams closed out the regular season strong winning four out of their final five games. The Rams went into the AAC Tournament as the number six seed, but feel to Tennessee Wesleyan University, 3-1.

Warner: Just like the Rams the Royals opened the season going 5-0. The Royals would then lose a couple before rattling off three straight wins. The Royals closed out their season with a lose, but still advanced to the conference tournament. In their conference tournament the Royals took on the Skyhawks and fell 3-1.

Team Statistics:

Columbia International: The Rams had 14 different goal scorers this year with five scoring at least four goals...Marcos da Paz led the way for the Rams with 17 goals and 37 points...Rahim Gordon and Ricky Prestridge were next with five goals a piece...The Rams also had seven players record double digits in points...Jeremiah Ruth led the Rams with six assists...Hugo Lemus played a majority of the minutes between the pipes for the Rams as he had 60 saves.

Warner: The Royals had 11 different players score a goal this year with two in double figures...Daniel Ridriguez led the Royals with 12 goals, while Matheus Santiago was not far behind with 11 goals...Kenolson Collin led the Royals with six assists...Angelo Neto spent most of the season between the pipes for the Royals and had 75 saves.
