CIU Falls at Home to #14 Reinhardt

Days after a rained out victory over Pensacola Christian, the Rams stepped back out into conference play for arguably one of their hardest tests of the season: an AAC matchup with the undefeated 14th ranked Reinhardt Eagles. Originally set to be a doubleheader on Wednesday, scheduling plans changed to an early Tuesday evening.
Reinhardt got on the board first within the first five minutes by way of a penalty kick, then 20 minutes later got another one in the back of net, finding the Rams down two goals going into halftime. A goal from Marcos Dapaz brought the Rams within one late in the second half, however the Eagles scored two more goals-the latter a deflection off of a Ram-and sealed the victory for the AAC leaders. The loss marks the first for CIU at Sessions Field as they were on a five game home win streak heading into this match.
CIU drops to 6-3, 1-3 in AAC play, their third loss in four games. Reinhardt moves to 9-0-1, 6-0 in AAC play.
The Rams continue their conference slate on the road on Saturday as they head to Montreat College with a kickoff time set for 7:15 PM.
