Knights Get Best of Volleyball in Five Set Thriller

Last week the Knights and CIU competed at the home of St. Andrews and saw the home team end the Rams five game win streak. A week following the contest, both teams would face off again, this time at the Moore Fitness Center with the Rams returning from a four game road trip.
The Rams got off to a great start in the contest, taking the first set 25-15 before the Knights grabbed the second set by a score of 25-15 as well. Set three was when things really kicked in as hustle plays from CIU helped avoid a late rally from the opposing team winning 25-21 to win and put themselves in the drivers seat to win the match in set number 4. The Knights held off a late rally from the Rams to force a fifth and final set 25-19, and in the final set that went past 15, CIU suffered a heartbreaker as St. Andrews won the fifth set 16-14.
CIU drops to 10-13 overall and 4-7 in conference play, while St. Andrews moves to 6-7 overall and 3-2 in conference play.
The Rams next games will take place Friday night with a rematch against Brenau here at the Moore Fitness Center set to start at 6:30 PM. The Rams defeated the Golden Tigers on September 25th, winning 3-1.
