Falcons Fly Past the Rams
Falcons Fly Past the Rams
Heading into their road match against Pfeiffer University, the Rams were looking to continue winning after opening the year with a win over Pensacola Christian College. The Rams came into the game 3-10, while their opponent Pfeiffer came into the game with an undefeated record, 9-0. The Falcons offense was clicking on all cylinders tonight and the Rams fell 120-68.

The Falcons would start fast as they jumped out to an early 5-0 lead. Micah Banks would get the Rams on the board with two made free throws. The Falcons would then go on a 17-0 run over the next three minutes. Gabe Kirk would halt the Falcons run, but once again they would go on another run.

Throughout the remainder of the first half, the Falcons would score and pressure the Rams into bad shots and turnovers. The Rams were unable to match the Falcons offensive output in the first half. The Falcons would take a 82-40 lead at the half.

The Rams would open the second half with a three by Damarcus Gay, but just six seconds later the Falcons hit a three of their own. Over the next three minutes each team would go cold from the field, but finally at the 17:23 mark Banks would hit a three.

The teams would go back and forth for a lot of the second half. At times each team would go cold, but once one team was able to get going it was like the other team fed off that and got their feet under them. The Rams played better in the second half as the Falcons only held a ten point advantage.

Columbia International shot 45.3% (24-of-53) from the field...Pfeiffer shot 52.5% (42-of-80) for the game...Each team attempted over twenty-five three pointers as the Rams were 10-of-27, while Pfeiffer was 13-of-34...Zachary Baker led the Rams with 16 points...Jacob Cook was 5-of-6 from the field with 11 points...Micah Banks was the last Ram in double figures with 10 points...Josiah Avington led the Falcons with 15 points and six rebounds.
