	                Rams Bounce Back Against Eagles

The Columbia International University Men's Soccer team traveled to Waleska, GA to take part in a tournament hosted by Reinhardt University. After their first loss of the season on Tuesday to Bluefield College the Rams were looking for some redemption today. The Rams came out flying all over the field and were rewarded for their efforts as they got back in the win column with a 2-0 victory. With the win the Rams move to 2-1, while the Eagles move to 0-2-1.
For the first six minutes of the game the two teams were trying to get their footing on the field as well as adjusting to the heat. The Rams would get the first registered shot of the game just 6:19 in as
Paul Grandacarpio had his shot saved by the Eagles keeper. Over five minutes later the Eagles would get off their first shot of the game, but the Rams would answer. The Rams would push the ball up the field, and they were rewarded for their efforts as
Ricky Prestridge was in an all out sprint and was able to chip the ball right out of the keepers hands and find open space to deposit the Rams first goal of the game and the first of his collegiate career. The Rams would continue to keep the pressure on the Eagles with
Alvaro Urena getting a shot off that just couldn't find its way past the keeper. However, just four and half minutes after their first goal the Rams got their second as
Rahim Gordon was able to cross the ball into
Victor Maron who got the ball past the keeper on the bottom left corner.  The Rams and Eagles would continue to get shots off, but the Rams would go into the half up by two.
The Rams would start the second half just like they did in the first as they got off the first shot, but the second half saw the Eagles attacking the Rams defense a lot. The Rams stood tall though as the Eagles never got off a clear shot because of the pressure put on by a stout Rams defense.
Dominik Schleinitz was huge in goal today as he picked up his second shutout of the year with six saves. As the scoreboard hit zeroes the Rams opened the tournament with a 2-0 over the host and got back in the win column.
Reinhardt had the advantage in shots with 15, compared to Columbia Internationals' 7, but they only had a slim 6-5 margin with shots on goal...The Rams made the most of their shots today with the two goals and the others were quality chances...
Ricky Prestridge picked up his first collegiate goal, while
Victor Maron scored his first goal as a Ram...With his assist on the second goal Rahim Gordon now has three points on the season...Schleinitz picked up his second win and shutout today...
This was the first ever meeting between these two schools.
Columbia International will be back in action tomorrow afternoon as they wrapped up at the Reinhardt Tournament with a 2 p.m. game against Truett-McConnell University.
