Rams Fall in Chess Match to the Bishops
Rams Fall in Chess Match to the Bishops
The Columbia International University men's basketball team came into tonight's game on a high note as they picked up their first win since the season opener last time out. The Rams traveled up to North Carolina Wesleyan University to take part in the Roger Taylor Invitational. The Rams took on the host Bishops tonight and the Bishops feed off their big crowd to win the game, 103-59.

The Bishops would get on the board first as they hit a three just ten second into the game. However, just a minute later the Rams would get on the board as well after Tyrone Dantzler Jr. was able to find Juraj Rovis in the paint for a layup. The Rams took an early 4-3 lead at the 18:04 mark as Damian Hurta stole the ball from the Bishops and found a streaking Micah Banks down the court for a fastbreak layup. Another basket by Rovis continued to add to the Rams lead, but it was short lived as the Bishops hit a three on their next possession to tie the game up. The Bishops offense would start to come alive and turnovers would hurt the Rams chances. The Bishops would go on multiple scoring runs to build a double digit lead. At the break the Bishops would take a 57-24 lead.

The Rams would come out of the half scoring the first four points after jumpers by Banks and Rovis. The Bishops would continue to build their lead as their offense was firing on all cylinders. The Rams were unable to match their fire power and fell in the chess match.

NC Wesleyan shot 55.2% (37-67) from the field, Columbia International shot 42.6% (23-54)...Kameron Robinson led the Rams with 16 points...Druw Rollins, Micah Banks, and Juraj Rovis each scored eight points for the Rams...Adrian Moore led the Bishops with 19 points.

Columbia International will have a quick turnaround as they take on Greensboro College tomorrow at 1 pm to close out their time at the tournament.
